Mullein Infused Oil

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Herbs: Ensure your mullein flowers or leaves are completely dry to avoid moisture contamination.
  2. Combine Ingredients: Place the dried mullein in a clean glass jar. Pour the MCT oil over the herbs, ensuring all plant material is fully submerged. Stir gently to remove any air bubbles.
  3. Infuse the Oil: Slow Method: Seal the jar and let it sit in a warm, sunny spot for 4-6 weeks, shaking gently every day. Quick Method: Use a double boiler or slow cooker on the lowest heat setting. Warm the mixture for 3-4 hours, keeping the temperature below 120°F to preserve the bioactive compounds.
  4. Strain the Oil: Once infused, strain the oil through a cheesecloth or fine strainer into a clean bowl. Squeeze the cheesecloth to extract as much oil as possible from the herbs.
  5. Store the Oil: Transfer the strained oil to a dark glass bottle to protect it from light. Label the bottle with the date of preparation.
